Does the patient give a disability with intervertebral hernia?

Benefits for diseases can be very necessary. That is why many are interested in the question of whether disability is caused by spinal hernia. With the help of these documents you can get medicines, surcharges, as well as other necessary benefits. When confronted with a specific diagnosis, everyone should understand what he is entitled to.

Features of the disease

A hernia is a deformity of the intervertebral disc in the form of its protrusion. As a result, the correct spine geometry is disturbed. This entails pain and other symptoms.

In some cases, the disease can be completely healed. To do this, you need to consult a doctor at the first signs of the disease. Many perceive back pain as something familiar. Do not pay due attention to it. As a result, there are quite serious complications.

The hernia itself is a threat not only to the vertebrae, because now the disc loses its elasticity and ceases to serve as a shock absorber. Additionally, there is muscle spasm, they account for the main load. In addition, the process of curvature may begin, which may further damage the internal organs.

In order to start treating this disease, you must get rid of the reasons why it arose and deal with the symptoms. At an early stage, specialists seek full healing. Laser treatment, surgery, as well as simple therapy using modern medicines and effective folk remedies are currently underway.

The main causes of this diagnosis are associated with changes in the disks themselves, as well as with increasing loads. As a result, we can distinguish several of them:

  • Osteochondrosis. Against the background of this disease often develop a hernia.
  • Overvoltage. This is especially true for athletes, porters and other people who are professionally engaged in heavy physical labor. It is enough not to calculate the load and a protrusion is formed, subsequently leading to a hernia.
  • Metabolic disorders, poor nutrition, lack of vitamins, it reduces the elasticity and elasticity of the disk.

To neutralize these negative factors, you need to adhere to the proper nutrition system, exercise, and also walk more in the fresh air. Now the diagnosis began to appear even in young people. Prevent it can only be a regular concern for their health.

Main symptoms

What is the group for this disease is determined by its degree, complications, and symptomatology. Depending on the location of the hernia, the body may react to similar changes in the disks in different ways.:

  • Damage to the cervical region causes numbness in the fingers. The pain can be localized not only in the neck, but also in the head, in the shoulders. Often, the pressure increases and in connection with this dizziness and nausea.
  • Hernia in the thoracic region means severe pain, limited mobility. Difficulty in breathing may occur.
  • Most often there is damage to the lumbar spine. Here the legs suffer, it manifests itself in the form of numbness of the fingers, pains most often in the thigh. Also acute discomfort is observed in the lower back.

At the initial stage it is almost impossible to determine a hernia. This is only a brief discomfort. Gradually, the pain increases, and tissue deformation begins. Swelling occurs, the muscles are affected. In the latter stages, even muscle atrophy, disturbances in the functioning of internal organs, as well as a serious limitation of mobility are possible.

Disability assignment

Disability group in intervertebral hernia is issued in the event that the restriction of mobility does not allow to perform basic work functions. Before you fill out the necessary documents, a thorough research is carried out by the commission. For this, several factors are determined:

  1. Is a person able to work in any field?
  2. Are there additional incomes, such as a pension?
  3. At what stage of the disease, which caused complications.
  4. Assessing loved ones and relatives who can help financially and provide care.

Based on these data, certain benefits are assigned by the examination. Help is given only to those patients who really need it for health reasons. Sometimes people give up on their own group. It is also difficult to answer the question of whether you can get a disability with an additional source of income. If material means are available, in most cases the commission refuses to execute documents with this diagnosis.

Collection and submission of documents

Initially, be sure to contact the doctor and undergo treatment. He may prescribe an examination only if the disease is in a serious stage and symptoms do not stop with the help of therapy or other rehabilitation actions. For this, the diagnosis must last at least 4 months without improvement. The internal organs are usually affected and the vital activity of the organism is changing.

How to make a disability? You need to start with the collection of documents. Most of the papers are diagnosed by the attending physician. In general, the patient must collect a certain package for inspection by the commission:

  • Card in which all the data on the state of health.
  • Direction to ITU.
  • Passport or other ID.
  • A separate direction for the examination of the clinic.

Additionally, an X-ray, tests, and a lumbar puncture will be prescribed before the examination. Based on these studies will accurately determine his state of health.

There are several groups that can be assigned depending on the state of the body:

  1. The first means the need for outside help, even in household chores. These patients cannot serve themselves. With hernia it is quite rare, only in the case of paralysis.
  2. The second means the impossibility of work and earnings. If the limbs suffer from a diagnosis or internal organs, this category is put.
  3. The third reports the presence of exacerbations at least once a month. You can work with her, but choose a profession without a load on the spine.

Timing and Solution

Registration takes a lot of time. Initially, a certain period is devoted to analyzes and examinations, then after the delivery of all documents and results a decision is expected. It must make up to 1 of the next month.

However, even if they give a disability, it will need to be regularly confirmed. The degree can be lowered or removed depending on the state of the body. For the first group, a commission is appointed once every 2 years, for the second and third every year.

When do they give a disability?

In order for a patient to acquire the status of a disabled person on a legal basis, he must undergo an examination of the state medical and social commission. As a result of a detailed examination in the framework of this examination, the relevant state bodies conclude as to whether the requested status is required for the patient. Often, research by the medical board involves fairly unanticipated areas. For example, the commission identifies the extent to which the patient is in need of this form of social security. In the case when a person has a rather substantial passive profit (interest on investments, etc.), the ability to be maintained by rich relatives, which will allow him to use the most acceptable commercial medical services, there is hardly a chance of becoming disabled. In addition, if the patient has free access to high-quality and effective resources to restore health, disability will be difficult to achieve.
A separate topic is the process of interviewing the patient with representatives of the commission. There are many precedents when the patient, giving very innocent answers, almost with his own hands deprived himself of the disability without himself realizing it. For example, the patient can say without unnecessary thoughts that he can do his daily work, not taking into account the fact that he does not work more than part-time. Thus, he does not acquire the possibility of a legal restriction on the performance of his labor activity, along with this the benefits are lost.

Most often, the patient is sent for medical examination directly after surgery or after a short period of time. This requirement applies to patients engaged in traditional methods of treatment. If non-invasive methods of influence on the pathology were unsuccessful, the patient will still have to lie on the surgical table. After a certain time after the operation, a specialist can draw conclusions regarding the results obtained, provided by the intervention of surgeons, and make recommendations on whether or not to require a disability. It is also necessary to clarify that the disability group is given only for a certain period, which can be extended only by re-passing medical and social examination. It is possible that after one year or a little more from the moment of the surgical removal of the hernia, the patient will regain his ability to work, symptomatic manifestations of the pathology will disappear. In this situation, the disability group is canceled.

How realistic is it to get a disability group?

The main part of the country's population has long understood that it is not worth expecting empathy from the state bodies of medicine. However, there are those who believe that everyone understands their difficult situation in which they find themselves, and naively wait for help.
But the reality is that medical and social expertise, like many other state-social bodies, does not know how to empathize with the population. Many representatives of the medical board diligently try to discern the positive changes in the patient's health and health and, according to the findings, refuse or reduce the status of the disabled. In addition, if the patient first visited the examination, you should not count on a favorable outcome of the case.
The bulk of the country's population is of sufficient interest to the authorities as long as they are healthy, workable, and able to pay tax expenses. One has only to move from the “payer” group to the “beneficiary” group (this may be a disability pension, other social benefits), as the interest of the authorities decreases significantly. It is necessary to competently use the services of lawyers, to master the important excerpts of the law. Otherwise, there is a high probability of being left with nothing.

Necessary factors for referral to commission

There are many reasons for prescribing a medical examination. The following are the most common ones:

  • regular and prolonged complications in the conditions of futility of restorative therapy,
  • the difficult course of pathology with the presence of recurring complications, due to which the patient loses the ability to perform his usual professional activities, and the proposed work significantly reduces his material condition,
  • long period of inability to work, lack of progress in health,
  • undiagnosed headache requiring further investigation and therapy,
  • intense depletion of the nervous process, unstable mood, irritability due to the resulting state of disability,
  • vestibular dysfunction,
  • stable pain,
  • significant impairment of motor functions, discomfort, stiffness,
  • prolonged complications for more than three months
  • unfavorable prognosis regarding the near term remission.

How is the group assigned?

To answer the question of whether a disability in intervertebral hernia will be given, it is worthwhile to focus on what disability groups exist. Intervertebral hernia requires the appointment of a specific group. Medico-social expertise may appoint one of the following:

  1. Appointment of the first group occurs in the case when the patient loses the ability to self-service, therefore, requires daily assistance from the immediate environment or medical professionals. With hernia of the spine, this group can be assigned only with the onset of paralysis of the patient.
  2. To assign the second group of disability, the patient should experience a pronounced permanent pain syndrome. The assignment of the second group is promoted by the ineffectiveness of the prescribed forms of therapy, a severe postoperative condition in case of a remote hernia, when the patient is unable to perform his usual activities.
  3. The third group of disability is assigned to those patients who suffer from systematic pain and muscle pathological abnormalities, manifested by the complication of the disease with regularity 1-2 times per month as a result of occupational activity. Patients diagnosed with intervertebral hernia who have received this group of disability after surgery should learn a profession that is more appropriate for them (through specialized courses).

When a patient has acquired a certain group, he receives a legal basis for a disability pension, the amount of which is determined in accordance with the group.

Intervertebral hernia requires proper treatment, as a result of which the patient can be assigned the status of a disabled person under the condition of complete or partial disability.

What is intervertebral hernia?

Intervertebral hernia refers to diseases of the spinal column, in which there is inflammation and destruction of the intervertebral disc. At the same time destructive processes accompanied by the destruction of the fibrous ring and the displacement of the vertebrae from the main axis of the spine. Most often, an intervertebral hernia appears in the lumbar region. May occur in the cervical and thoracic, but this phenomenon is less common.

Intervertebral hernia is the most popular disease of the spinal column, in which surgical intervention is performed. The most common cause of surgery is severe back pain, as well as aggravation, even with minimal physical exertion.

Hernia stages

The course of the disease can occur with different symptoms depending on its stage.

Stages of spinal hernia

The following stages of the intervertebral hernia are distinguished.:

  1. vertebral disc protrusion. Accompanied by incomplete rupture of the fibrous ring, in which part of the nucleus can go outside. At this stage, the pain is weak, there are shooting, which increase after exercise,
  2. partial intervertebral disc prolapse. Bulging of the pulpal nucleus is most pronounced. The pains become chronic and localized in the affected area. The blood supply to the intervertebral disk is disrupted,
  3. vertebral disc loss. The core almost completely leaves the fibrous ring and goes beyond it. With constant pain, limited mobility arises due to severe pain. Lumbago can react to the leg, thigh. With a cervical hernia at this stage, there is a severe headache, the scapular zone becomes numb,
  4. outflow of the nucleus beyond the ring (sequestration). There is a displacement of the intervertebral disc, ensuring the pinching of the nerve endings of the spine. The syndrome is accompanied by severe and persistent pain, leading to a reduction in spinal mobility in the area of pathology.

When pain syndrome is not amenable to conservative treatment, surgical intervention is resorted to.

Important! The effectiveness of treatment of intervertebral hernia depends on the stage of detection of the pathology and the start of treatment. The earlier the disease is detected, the greater the chances of recovery.

At what stage of the intervertebral hernia do they become disabled

Intervertebral hernia can lead to disability even at the stage of intervertebral disc protrusion. Despite the fact that protrusion is successfully cured, if the disease limits motor function, they can prescribe a disability.

Disability in herniated disc is assigned depending on the symptoms of the disease:

Pay attention to the cases in which a disc herniation can be registered as a disability. The indications for disability in an intervertebral hernia can be:

  • strong, persistent, often having acute periods of back pain,
  • frequent patient requests for a disability certificate,
  • the ineffectiveness of permanent conservative treatment for more than four months,
  • impaired coordination of the limbs, which negatively affects the quality of life,
  • complications that disrupt the functioning of internal organs (genitourinary, cardiac, respiratory system).

Important! Disability in intervertebral hernia is assigned according to the results of a multi-stage examination that is performed by specialists in the field of spinal diseases. Medical examination provides several provisions that must be met for the appointment of a disability.

What tests are needed for disability?

In order for the medical commission to assign the patient a disability, should pass a whole range of activities, the results of which will be able to confirm the need for disability. In addition, you should collect a package of necessary documents.

Medical measures include:

Intervertebral hernias are well treated on MRI

  • X-ray examination of the spine
  • if there are circulatory disorders due to protrusion of the nucleus of the annulus, it is necessary to conduct electromyography (a study of the liquor-conducting channels of the spinal cord),
  • rheovasography (the study of blood circulation in the pathological section of the spine), in the presence of a hernia of the cervical spine - rheoencephalography (the study of the vascular system of the brain),
  • lumbar puncture (extraction of cerebrospinal fluid for research).

If an operation is performed, it is necessary to provide the conclusion of a neurosurgeon. In addition, it is required to provide the result of urine tests and complete blood count.

In addition to the findings of a medical examination of the spinal column in the case of a hernia for disability, it is required to assemble a package of documents:

  • direction for medical and social expertise,
  • medical certificate of disability,
  • medical record of the patient,
  • an extract from the medical card in the absence of a medical card.

If a patient confirms a disability or re-passes a commission, you should provide:

  • disability certificate
  • conclusion of the rehabilitation period,
  • survey results
  • passport, pension certificate, insurance policy.

Important! The presence of all documents is not a guarantee of assignment of disability. Especially it concerns cases when the patient refused from carrying out of the procedures appointed by the doctor or from hospital treatment. In this case, the disability will most likely be denied due to the patient’s refusal of the recommended treatment.

The sequence of procedures for obtaining disability in herniated disc

The main reason for disability in hernia is an entry on the patient's card about the presence of intervertebral hernia. This suggests that the patient underwent surgery, and conservative treatment does not bring the result necessary for normal functioning and disability.

In order to get a disability, it is necessary to go through all stages of this process. This process involves the study of the physiological state of the patient with the presence of an intervertebral hernia, as well as the study of aspects of his life.

The sequence of actions in the presence of a hernia to confirm disability and disability:

  • obtaining a certificate from the attending physician, which confirms the disability of the patient, from a neurosurgeon, a neurologist,
  • the passage of all medical events to get both pictures of the disease,
  • providing members with medical and social expertise necessary certificates, documents and survey results.

Read more about the procedure for obtaining disability in case of hernia of the spine. In addition, the staff of the commission are studying the social status of the patient. This is necessary in order to understand what kind of social assistance the patient received in the presence of the disease, as well as the income of the patient before the illness. We consider the severity of the disease, the cause of occurrence, following the recommendations of the doctor for the treatment of the disease.

The financial condition of the patient is significant for the decision of the commission on assigning the patient with a disability. If there are additional incomes (dividends, other income), then they will be forced to refuse to receive a disability grant.

Commission staff conduct a survey of the patient about his relatives, work, the ability to do simple work, life satisfaction and the ability to lead a limited lifestyle.

After going through all the procedures, the decision remains with the commission. Should know that confirm disability should be annually. If there has been progress in the treatment of the disease, then the person can be recognized as capable.

In this way, intervertebral hernia is a serious vertebral pathologyin which there may be destruction of the fibrous annulus of the disk. The disease is aggravated by back pain, inability to fully move.

Intervertebral hernia has several stages of development depending on the damage of bone and intervertebral tissue. If the treatment does not help, and after the operation the pain syndromes continue, the patient can contact the staff of the medical and social expertise for disability.

To pass a commission, it is required to pass a series of tests, undergo various research procedures, and have a doctor’s referral. If the commission confirms the patient’s incapacity for work, it will be possible to receive state subsidies due to the inability to earn money on their own due to the limited capacity for work with a hernia.

Goodbye visitor!

In this case, they consider that the patient will be able to be treated for his own money and he does not need state aid. After all, you can get a better rehabilitation at your own expense, and not count on free government assistance. Sometimes, through ignorance, you can be guilty of refusing to receive a disability or withdrawing existing benefits.

This happens when the patient says that he is doing well, he does an excellent job, but keeps back on working on part-time work. Based on this, the commission draws conclusions about improving a person’s well-being, which means that patient benefits are no longer needed and can be canceled. After that, the person has to work full time, but with vertebral hernia it is very difficult, and sometimes even dangerous to health.

All patients who underwent surgery are immediately sent to the medical board.

In what cases with spinal hernia is a patient given a disability

Intervertebral discs are not designed for loads greater than a certain weight, but a person rarely takes this feature into account, lifting weights in the workplace or at home.

During physical labor, a person must take into account the following features of the spine:

During lifting and moving weights, it is important to properly distribute the weight.

Well, if the weight is equally distributed across all intervertebral discs. If the weight is uneven and has too much weight, then the discs are compressed from the front.

The intervertebral gel-like fluid under pressure moves to the back of the disks.

Natural shock absorbers on the human spine are located in the cervical and lumbar parts of the skeleton.

Do disability patients with spinal hernia?

You can get this type of disability for the first 6 months after surgery. The third type of disability is the group that includes the lightest types of the disease.

Even after receiving a disability, a person will need to undergo special examinations each year confirming his incapacity.

To get a disability with a spinal hernia is quite feasible if the commission considers you to be a truly incapacitated citizen.

Hernia Disability: when given, and when not

But first you need to contact your therapist and get a referral to ITU. Along with the referral, the passing committee should take the originals of such documents:

  1. the results of all diagnostic studies conducted the day before,
  2. certificate of assignment of disability for the same disease (if a person does not apply for the first time).
  3. medical record
  4. an extract from the hospital from which the patient was referred for examination (if he passes a commission in another hospital),
  5. description of the rehabilitation course, if the victim has already passed it,
  6. your passport

Thus, disability can be formalized only if all medical documents are available that confirm the fact of the disease, fix its developmental stages, exacerbations, as well as the fact that the victim has undergone appropriate treatment.

Does a spinal hernia have a disability?

Actually, it is for her sake that the patients pass the commission.

Before the examination, the attending physician will certainly refer the patient to the necessary examinations, after which the necessary materials will be issued:

  1. computed or magnetic resonance imaging,
  2. X-ray of the spine in the place of the hernia,
  3. blood test,
  4. electromyography (if observed radiculoischemia),
  5. rheovasography (in violation of the vessels),
  6. Analysis of urine.
  7. myelography
  8. spinal tap,
  9. rheoenceography (if there is posterior cervical sympathetic syndrome),

In addition, you may need to consult a neurosurgeon and his written recommendations about surgical treatment. But do not assume that you have to go through all these studies: the required list will be determined by the attending physician.

Be careful!

Before I read on, I want to warn you. Most of the "treating" hernia that advertise on TV and sell in pharmacies is a complete divorce. At first it may seem that the cream and ointment help, but in reality they only remove the symptoms of the disease.

In simple words, you buy the usual anesthetic, and the disease continues to develop into a more difficult stage.

A common hernia can be a symptom of more serious diseases:

  • Muscular dystrophy of the buttocks, thigh and lower leg,
  • Pinch of the sciatic nerve,
  • Seps - blood poisoning,
  • Violation of the tone of the muscular wall of the blood vessels of the lower extremities,
  • Horsetail syndrome, often resulting in paralysis of the lower limbs.

How to be? - you ask.

We studied a huge amount of materials and most importantly checked in practice the majority of hernia treatments. So, it turned out that the only drug that does not remove the symptoms, but really heals a hernia is Hondrexil.

This drug is not sold in pharmacies and it is not advertised on TV and on the Internet, and according to the federal program, every resident of the Russian Federation and the CIS can receive the package Hondreksil IS FREE!

So that you do not think that you are being sucked in by the next “miracle cream”, I will not describe what kind of effective drug it is. If interested, read all the information about Hondrexil yourself. Here is the link to the article.

Intervertebral hernia and disability

Diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which includes a hernia of the spine, can cause temporary, partial or complete disability of a person. A frivolous attitude towards one's health can lead to disability - an untimely visit to a doctor, an inadequate treatment due to the patient’s fault, complications after an operation or conservative treatment. With spinal hernia, disability in Russia is problematic, the law says the following.

What does the law say

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 20, 2006 No. 95 approved the “Rules for recognizing a citizen as disabled”, the conditions are as follows:

  • total body dysfunction, acquired due to a previous illness, injury or congenital abnormality,
  • inadequate livelihoods associated with the partial or complete loss of the ability of self-service, orientation, movement, training, work, social life,
  • social insecurity in the postoperative period.

In order to get a disability group to a person who has undergone a spinal hernia surgery, you need to comply with all three items on the list - a single sign is not a sufficient reason to recognize a person as disabled.

However, if a citizen after surgery needs long-term rehabilitation, the issue of obtaining a disability can be considered. This is done by the members of the special commission (medico-social expertise) - it is they who, after careful examination, give the patient a disability group or recognize him as capable.

ITU procedure

The procedure of medical and social expertise is nothing more than a legal recognition by the state of a person’s disability. Before the commission members determine that a group has been assigned to the patient after the operation to remove a hernia of the spine, they carefully study all aspects of his life activity.

  • Financial status in the period of "before" and "after" the disease.
  • The size of the existing social assistance from the state (subsidies, benefits, others).
  • The severity of the disease, in which you can talk about the loss of capacity.
  • Having a group before the incident in question.
  • What was the cause of the disease.
  • Whether the patient followed all medical recommendations.

Another item on this list is the presence of financially secure relatives who could provide material support to the patient. Also takes into account the level of possible passive income of the patient (receiving dividends, etc.).In both cases, it can be argued that the assignment of a group to a person will be refused.

Another fact may not be good for the patient. Responding to questions from members of the commission about labor activity, the patient says that he copes with his duties without specifying his special position (part-time employment, lightweight working conditions, etc.). The commission draws conclusions and comes to the conclusion that this person can not be given a group, since after removing a hernia of the spine, his health condition is satisfactory.

Hello! My name is
Lyudmila Petrovna, I want to express my benevolence to you and your site.

Finally, I was able to get rid of a hernia. I lead an active lifestyle, live and enjoy every moment!

At the age of 45 I got a hernia. When I turned 58, complications began, I almost could not walk, and these terrible pains, you just can’t imagine how I was in pain, everything was very bad. What did not try, hospitals, clinics, procedures, expensive ointment. nothing helped.

Everything changed when my daughter gave me an article on the Internet. No idea how much I thank her for it. This article literally lifted me out of bed. Do not believe it, but in just 2 weeks I completely cured a hernia. The last few years have begun to move a lot, in spring and summer I go to the country every day, grow tomatoes and sell them on the market. Aunts wonder how I manage to do it, where all my strength and energy come from, they won’t believe that I am 62 years old.

Who wants to live a long and energetic life without a hernia, take 5 minutes and read this article.

All patients after surgery to remove a hernia of the spine put the procedure ITU, referral to it gives the doctor. But a person needs to be prepared for the fact that state bodies simply do not give a disability, and the examination is carried out more likely to confirm the patient’s capacity and the phrase “patient’s health condition is satisfactory”.

What is required for ITU to pass

In order to pass the ITU, the patient must provide the results of the studies:

  • MRI, CT scan or x-ray examination of the spine,
  • in case of vascular disorders accompanying the intervertebral bulge, the results of electromyography are necessary,
  • rheovasography, with hernia of the cervical segment - rheoencephalography,
  • myelography and lumbar puncture,
  • if necessary, surgery, the findings of a neurosurgeon.

In addition, the patient needs to collect a package of documents - a referral to the ITU, a medical card or an extract, in case of a second appeal, a certificate of disability, a conclusion on rehabilitation, all the results of examinations, a passport.

Even the provision of all documents does not guarantee that the disability group will be assigned to you. If a patient at least once refused to carry out any procedures (even expensive), which, according to the doctor, provide an opportunity for a speedy recovery, you can not count on getting a disability - the refusal will be 100%.

Categories of disability

Depending on the severity and consequences of the illness, the patient may be assigned I, II or III disability group.

  • The first group is assigned to patients with complete paralysis (the impossibility of self-care and the need for outside help) uncontrolled urination, defecation - this is the most difficult category of patients.
  • The second group is given to patients who have obvious impairment of body functions, there is a long-term pain syndrome, therapeutic measures do not bring results, as well as in the postoperative period.
  • The third group includes people with muscular and vascular disorders (the consequence of illness) also those whose work leads to frequent exacerbations of the disease. Such patients are given the opportunity of retraining and the transition to sparing working conditions.

Remember, the assigned disability does not carry the status “for life” - the patient will have to confirm his special position annually.

What is vertebral hernia?

This disease is quite common in residents of our country, significantly complicating their lives. Vertebral hernia belongs to the category of diseases that significantly complicate the work of the musculoskeletal system, which makes it impossible to perform a number of functions for humans. First of all, which is very important - a person who has encountered such a problem is almost guaranteed to be forced to give up work. But what to say about work, if even the simplest household chores become a real problem for the patient. Disability with spinal hernia is issued based on information about the degree of complexity of the disease and its stage. In order to determine the necessary information, the patient is sent to specialized procedures for the examination of the vertebrae, which are called medico-social examination.

Why do we need medical and social expertise, and what is its meaning?

In fact, this procedure is carried out not only in the analysis of this disease, but also in many others. Indeed, before a person is recognized as disabled on the basis of legal documents, it is necessary to make a clear, verified diagnosis. In addition to diagnostic functions, the examination helps to solve a number of other problems, for example:

• Analysis of work disability: whether a person will be able to perform any functions in the field of labor sphere or not,
• Check on the existence of a citizen’s income,
• Determines the group of disability with hernia of the spine of an established category,
• Evaluation of the impact of the disease on the ability of the disabled person to find a job,
• Checking the presence of close and dear people who can provide all possible assistance and care for a disabled person.

And this is not all the nuances that are clarified with the help of expertise. So without a complete set of information obtaining disability will be very difficult.

Cases when the disability with hernia of the spine is not appointed

The most likely reason that may be for refusing to grant a disability is any source of additional income. Moreover, this reason applies not only to those cases when vertebral hernia is investigated, but also in many other types of diseases. In urban hospitals there is a perception that if a person has sources of finance, he may well turn to a private medical institution, which will provide him with a complex of highly effective rehabilitation methods.

Another category of citizens, to whom the disability group is given very rarely, are people who have the support of their relatives or close people.

It is not strange, but in many cases people themselves refuse to obtain the status of disabled, in view of the fact that they are able to provide for themselves and are full-fledged members of society. In this case, the main thing is to sensibly assess one’s own capabilities, both financial and physical. If a person says that he is employed and has the opportunity to earn income, the disability group can be removed.

Which disability group is assigned to a person in one way or another?

At the state level, there is a need to assign a certain category of disability to any citizen of a country if this is justified by his state of health. Vertebral hernia is no exception, and involves one of three categories, depending on the stage and complexity of development.

When the mildest form of the disease occurs, a third category is assigned. It also includes patients in whom the disease is just beginning to manifest and develop. For persons with disabilities of the third category relies on reducing the loads on the body, registration of part-time work at the workplace and the organization of lightweight workflow.

If a citizen has had an operation on the basis of vertebral hernia, then he is charged with the second category of disability. Answering the question of how to get a disability with hernia of the spine without surgery, belonging to this category, it is necessary to indicate strong pain and problems with the movement and functioning of the musculoskeletal system.

For patients with vertebral hernia in the most neglected and complex form, the first category of disability is assigned. If a patient has problems with the functioning of the cervical or other parts of the vertebral zone, the first category of disability will be assigned to sphincter disorders or paralysis.

Does a spinal hernia give a disability and how can I get it?

So, we have dealt with the main categories that a patient can get, as well as with the symptoms and principles of disability issuance, but what is needed for a complete disability registration? First of all, the patient should go to the doctor who will do all the necessary tests and examinations. Also, this doctor should give the patient a referral to undergo ITU, if during the examination the following signs were found:

• Disability in spinal hernia may be necessary if the disease is severe, there are pathological violations that are incompatible with working in a familiar position, which means a reduction or absence of monthly material income,
• Patients are becoming more frequent and exacerbated signs of radiculopathy, which do not allow to stop even the rehabilitation procedures of a special nature,
• Continued inability to perform work duties, in the absence of favorable forecasts for the near future,
• Malfunctions in the functioning of the patient's vestibular system,
• Frequent pains that are not amenable to drug exposure may cause disability in vertebral hernia,
• Compression of the cauda equina or radiculoischemic problems that limit the functioning of the musculoskeletal system,
• Prolonged serious condition of the patient, more than four months, while the overall picture does not imply remission,
• The manifestation of asthenic syndrome or cephalgia.

How to make a disability with vertebral hernia?

After the doctor carries out a thorough examination and puts all the information received into the documents, an examination will be appointed directly. In order for a patient to be allowed to undergo an examination, he must have a set of papers with him which contains:

• A sheet with direction to the ITU,
• Medical record of the patient. It is here, according to the established rules, that all information regarding the problems with the patient’s vertebral zone should be entered, as well as a history of treatment, procedural effects and medication,
• Identification,
• A document issued by the clinic, which sent the patient for examination, with all the information about his disease.

For the category of disability, a citizen will be assigned an x-ray, a series of tests and a lumbar puncture. If you are in doubt whether a spinal cord hernia is a disability, you can consult with your doctor about what is needed to get a category.

Is it possible to register a disability with herniated disc?

Herniated disc is a serious enough disease in itself. The methods of treatment have long been known and tested, but with all the techniques worked out it is not always possible to cure a person completely. You can’t argue with the statistics, there is a certain (though not large) percentage of patients for whom the result of such a diagnosis as a herniated disc is a disability.

There is a lot of controversy about which type of treatment is preferable in the sense that the patient is less likely to earn a disability group. Research suggests that conservative treatment is more effective in this regard, if only because there is always another chance if the expected improvement is not observed — this is a surgical intervention. And only after that you can talk about the results of treatment.

But now I would like to consider the question whether it is possible to get a group of disability in such a disease as intervertebral hernia.

When is the question of getting a disability?

Legally, a person should be recognized as disabled by the state through medical and social expertise. It is this examination that conducts a sufficiently detailed examination, which sometimes includes completely unexpected factors. For example, it determines how much a person needs such a measure of social protection. For example, if you get a large enough passive income (dividends from deposits, etc.), or help from wealthy relatives, and as a result you can provide yourself with better paid medical care, you can get more convenient and high-quality rehabilitation tools than those Free, which can provide you with the state, then you will not get a disability.

Separately, it is worth mentioning such a moment as the examination of the patient by examination. There is a lot of evidence that a person, answering fairly innocently, simply does not understand that he himself almost takes off his disability. For example, a person simply says that he normally copes with his work, without specifying that he works only on half of the rate. As a result, he is removed all restrictions on work, and at the same time - the majority of benefits. But to fully work full time with a herniated disc is a very difficult task, no matter what kind of work you have.

Usually the patient is sent to the commission immediately or within a short time after surgery. The same applies to those patients who are undergoing conservative treatment, because when non-surgical methods do not work, the person is still sent for surgery. After that, the doctor looks at the achieved results and decides whether a group of disabilities is necessary. At the same time disability is not given "once and for all", the examination will need to be held regularly. It happens that a year after the operation the patient's condition returns to normal and he almost completely gets rid of the symptoms of the disease. In this case, the disability is removed.

ITU realities

Most people have become accustomed to the fact that there is no reason to wait for sympathy from the state. Nevertheless, many people think that people around them understand the problems with which they have to deal, therefore they are waiting for sympathy and assistance.

But ITU, like any other government organization, does not sympathize with anyone. She is not going to make life easier for someone, “show understanding” or “get into position.”Experts of expertise always try to see an improvement in the patient's condition, and according to the results - to lower or remove a group of disability. And the first visit to the examination will never be easy.

The realities of our life should be remembered - you are more or less interested in the state while you are healthy, working and paying taxes. But as soon as you move from the category of “payers” to the category of “recipients” (pension, assistance, etc.) # 8212, the attitude, which has not been very good before, deteriorates completely. So do not expect sympathy and understanding - contact the lawyers, get acquainted with the laws, otherwise you will simply be left with nothing.

What are the indications for referral for examination and how are groups of disabilities defined?

There are certain indications, in the presence of which the doctor can send the patient for examination. Based on this evidence, the doctor decides whether to refer the patient for examination and disability.

First of all, these are, of course, long-term and frequent exacerbations of radiculopathy, in which rehabilitation measures do not give the desired effect.

Secondly, the reason for referral for examination may be an unfavorable course of the disease, as well as repeated exacerbations, because of which a person cannot perform work in his or her main profession, and as a result of the recommended employment, his earnings and qualifications are reduced.

The third reason may be the long-term temporary disability of the patient, who has shoulder-hand syndrome, in cases where the prognosis is doubtful or unfavorable.

Cephalgia asthenic syndrome. vestibular disorders. Contraindicated factors in the main work and the objective impossibility of rational employment - all this can also become factors that the doctor relies on when sending a patient for examination.

In addition, the reason for the direction of the examination may be sustained pain syndrome, as well as motor disorders that may occur after compression of the cauda equina, radiculomyeloishemia, radiculoischemia.

In this case, the patient must also undergo the necessary minimum examinations, which include:

  • X-ray of the spine
  • if necessary - CT and MRI,
  • with radiculomiesischemia syndrome - EMG,
  • in vascular complications of lumbar osteochondrosis - RVG,
  • with posterior cervical sympathetic syndrome - REG,
  • if conducted, then myelography and lumbar puncture,
  • with indications for surgical treatment - consultation of a neurosurgeon,
  • general urine and blood tests.

    Disability with spinal hernia

Author: Olga Alekseevna, experience in surgery for 7 years.

Disability - is a limitation of human life. Most often it occurs due to illness. In this article, we consider the disability with hernia of the spine. Does this pathology cause disability? Who should I contact to officially get a disability group? We will try to answer these questions in detail in our article.

When may an examination be required?

If a patient with a hernia for more than 6 months is in pain (with conservative treatment), then he needs to think about the operation. After surgery, as a rule, a significant relief of the condition occurs. But there are situations in which surgical treatment is contraindicated. It may be associated with severe comorbidities of the patient, recovery periods after stroke and heart attack. In this case (and not if the patient deliberately renounces surgical treatment), the patient’s pain syndrome will impede the performance of familiar work. The patient requires an examination by a special commission, which establishes the degree of dysfunction of organs and tissues.

The following criteria are assessed for medical and social expertise: movement, self-care and ability to work.

In some cases, the patient may receive a disability group after surgical treatment to remove a hernia. This is due to the fact that the restoration of normal performance in severe disease takes about 6-12 months. The state is not interested in having the patient spend this time on a disability certificate. A disability group is given with a limited duration (usually for a year). After this period, a re-examination is carried out. If the damaged functions of the spine are restored, then the patient returns to his usual work.

Basically, hernia of the spine affects the ability to move, self-care and labor. But intervertebral pathology of the lumbar spine can cause a disruption of the work of the pelvic organs. Usually, during this course of the disease, urgent operations are performed. But if the dysfunction became irreversible, then the patient may become disabled. Incontinence of urine and feces is a serious pathology that interferes not only with work, but also with socialization. Also, disability is given to patients who have a lumbar spine hernia combined with other spinal cord compression diseases. In this case, even after the surgery, the prognosis for recovery is dubious.

There are many examples when disability is given. But each case is individual. Important is the fact of impairment, in which the patient cannot perform his usual work or take care of himself.

Passage of medical and social examination

Document collection for ITU is a long and laborious process. But a full examination of your spine guarantees you a smooth passage of the commission. Otherwise, ITU members will have questions about the severity of your condition.

As a rule, the patient should start with the clinic, to which he belongs. There he passes all the specialists and, if necessary, gives general tests. Mandatory examinations include x-rays and MRI (CT). In some cases, performed myelography (study of the spinal cord), electromyography (study of the excitability of muscle fibers). With comorbidities, instrumental and laboratory confirmation of all diagnoses is required. The main point is the conclusion about the treatment and its effectiveness. We also need a consultation with a neurosurgeon, which speaks about the need or success of the operation to remove a hernia.

Disability is laid to those people who strictly followed the recommendations of a specialist doctor and did not receive relief from the condition. If the patient refuses to undergo any therapy or operation, this is necessarily noted in the documentation. Such refusals entitle an ITU commission to prevent a patient from becoming disabled.

An important part of the documentation on the ITU is the production characteristic of the patient. It describes in detail the working conditions and nature of work.

    What are the disability groups?

With a hernia of any part of the spine is required to limit physical activity. In this case, patients who are engaged in heavy physical labor lose their professional aptitude. At the same time, they may be given labor recommendations, retrained and transferred to another specialty. The ITU Commission does not issue a group, but contributes to the employment of a patient for the work that he can perform. After such a conclusion, the disability of the patient is not allowed.

The third group is the easiest. After its establishment, the patient can go to work, but has some limitations on specialties. It is given in severe pain syndrome, frequent exacerbations of the disease.

Patients with the second group have pronounced impairments in movement or self-service, which prevent them from engaging in work activities. It is given to patients with persistent pain and after ineffective surgical treatment.

Patients with the first group need constant care. In this case, the patient can not independently maintain. The ability to care for patients is usually given to relatives. The state provides them with benefits and working benefits. If the patient lives alone, he will be visited by a social worker.

    Draw conclusions

We conducted an investigation, examined a bunch of materials, and most importantly, we checked the majority of hernia treatments. The verdict is:

All drugs gave only a temporary result, as soon as the treatment was stopped - the pain immediately returned.

Remember! There is NOT ANY MEANS that will help you to cure a hernia if you do not apply a complex treatment: diet, regimen, physical exertion, etc.

Modern means of hernia, which is replete with the entire Internet, also did not produce results. As it turned out - all this is a deception of marketers who earn huge money on the fact that you are led by their advertising.

The only drug that gave significant
    the result is chondrexyl

You ask, why does everyone who suffers from a hernia in a moment did not get rid of it?

The answer is simple, Hondreksil is not sold in pharmacies and is not advertised on the Internet. And if they advertise - then this is a FAKE.

There is good news, we went to the manufacturers and share with you a link to the official site Hondreksil. By the way, manufacturers do not try to profit in public with sore joints; according to the promotion, each resident of the Russian Federation and the CIS can receive one package of the drug IS FREE!

Medico-social expertise - what it is and why it is needed

When a vertebral hernia is diagnosed, surgeons almost immediately suggest that they have surgery, because with its help, threatening paralysis can be avoided. But to ensure that after her man fully recovered, there will be no doctor. Therefore, patients who decide on a risky treatment should think in advance about what benefits are available for patients with this difficult diagnosis. It is worth considering that disability after removal of a hernia of the spine is given only if severe complications are observed. According to the law, the state allows each patient to register a disability, but in order to get it, you need to undergo a medical and social examination. But first of all it is important to get acquainted with the conditions of registration of disability and see the relevant laws.

Only the state can give a person the status of a disabled person. Medico-social commission is needed to help the patient get a disability. On the ITU study the diagnosis of a person and the extent of his illness.

The commission determines the social security, the severity of the disease, the possibility of going to work and other important details.

"Pitfalls" in the design of disability

It is worth noting that if a person has a sufficiently large and stable passive income or there are wealthy relatives, it is likely that disability will not be given.

The doctor examines the results and determines whether the patient should be given a disability group or not. Having received a disability, a person must pass a repeated commission every year and confirm his status and assigned group. Disability is not assigned immediately for life: if the patient’s health is fully restored after the operation, the person’s disability is removed. But if the condition of the body does not improve, then the disability group remains.

No need to wait for sympathy from the medical commission, it is worth remembering that this is a state organization that cannot express feelings. It is not a secret that examination workers are looking for a lot of reasons not to give a sick person a disability group who really needs it. We must be prepared for the fact that we will have to literally defend our rights and prove our disability.

In order to calmly apply for a disability, it is advisable to study the relevant laws or consult a lawyer.

Patients with hernia of the spine are sent to the commission for various reasons. Here are the main ones:

    • repeated and prolonged exacerbations of radiculopathy, despite the well-conducted rehabilitation measures,
    • difficult course of the disease with secondary exacerbations, if the patient can no longer perform his previous professional duties, which leads to a decrease in his earnings,
    • prolonged temporary disability, questionable diagnosis or an unfavorable prognosis of the disease,
    • asthenic syndrome,
    • vestibular disorders
    • severe pain
    • motor disorders due to lumbar intervertebral disc pathology,
    • if the exacerbation is observed 4 months and more or if improvements are not expected in the near future.

What you need to provide medical commission

For registration of disability with intervertebral hernia, you need to go through all the necessary examinations:

    • x-ray analysis of the spine
    • electromyography,
    • rheovasography, only when the hernia of the spine was aggravated by vascular disorders,
    • rheoencephalography,
    • myelography
    • lumbar puncture,
    • blood and urine tests.

For registration of disability, you must provide the following documents:

    • roundabout sheet from the clinic, in which a person is examined,
    • certificate of disability, if it is already available,
    • medical record with detailed data about the disease,
    • an extract from the hospital to which the patient was referred before the medical board,
    • passport.

Types of disability groups and conditions for their appointment

If you want to know which group will be given for your diagnosis, you first need to decide on the types of groups:

Group I - the most difficult. It is given when a person cannot move independently, maintain himself, perform elementary self-care activities. He constantly needs care from the medical staff and custody from native people. Group I was prescribed for patients with sphincter disorders or paralysis.

Group II - moderate. It is given if the patient has pain for a long time. As well as in disorders of motor functions, if the prescribed therapy is not effective. The second group is supposed to be sick after surgery in case of disability.

Group III - is considered the easiest. It is intended for people who experience constant pain and have musculo-tonic disorders. This group is supposed to be sick if they have exacerbations that appear several times a month due to excessive physical activity. Such people are given the opportunity to retrain or translate into easier work. Once a person fully adapts, the disability is no longer extended.

If a person has received a certain disability group, he is entitled to financial assistance, the amount of the pension depends on the designated group. In vertebral hernia, disability is given only if the person is not able to serve himself independently or there are violations that do not allow him to engage in professional activities.

Where to get a claim for a refund of insurance

However, quite often patients themselves ask leading questions to their doctor and only then they are given the opportunity to ease their work and receive financial benefits from the state. Identifies the disability group of the ITU (medical and social expertise). At this examination, there are several doctors present - a vertebrologist, a therapist, a neuropathologist, a traumatologist, etc. In the process of the commission, the patient is interviewed and examined, blood tests, X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and an extract from the medical history card are carefully studied. Only on the basis of these data, the patient receives a disability group. You should also take into account the fact that doctors and ITU experts are exploring not only aspects of the patient's disease, but also his material well-being.

    Disability with spinal hernia

    What does the law say

  • ITU procedure
  • What is required for ITU to pass
  • Categories of disability
  • What the law says The RF Government Resolution No. 95 of February 20, 2006 approved the “Rules for the recognition of a citizen as a disabled person”, the conditions are as follows:

    • total body dysfunction, acquired due to a previous illness, injury or congenital abnormality,
    • inadequate livelihoods associated with the partial or complete loss of the ability of self-service, orientation, movement, training, work, social life,
    • social insecurity in the postoperative period.

In order to get a disability group to a person who has undergone a spinal hernia surgery, you need to comply with all three items on the list - a single sign is not a sufficient reason to recognize a person as disabled.

    Disability in spinal diseases

Financial status in the period of "before" and "after" the disease.

  • The size of the existing social assistance from the state (subsidies, benefits, others).
  • The severity of the disease, in which you can talk about the loss of capacity.
  • Having a group before the incident in question.
  • What was the cause of the disease.
  • Whether the patient followed all medical recommendations.
  • Another item on this list is the presence of financially secure relatives who could provide material support to the patient.

Also takes into account the level of possible passive income of the patient (receiving dividends, etc.). In both cases, it can be argued that the assignment of a group to a person will be refused.

Also read: Another fact may not be to the benefit of the patient.

    Disability after hernia removal

24-hour Legal Consultation by Phone Intervertebral hernia is a serious disease, resulting from the deformation and subsequent displacement of part of the intervertebral disk. Most often, the disease affects men whose age is in the range from 20 to 50 years, but often women suffer from hernia of the spine.
The main symptom of a hernia is a sharp pain that occurs in the place where the torn intervertebral disk bulges and presses on the nerve root, causing severe swelling.

The insidiousness of the hernia is that the patient may not even suspect that there is a hernia, especially in the early stages.

Requirements and indications for disability in intervertebral hernia

Who can be recognized as disabled in the diagnosis of intervertebral hernia?

Most people with vertebral hernia are interested in the possibility of getting a disability, since a person with such a disease can become disabled, either completely or partially, and doing household work, not to mention work, becomes a difficult task.

Disability with this diagnosis is given only in its severe forms. After surgery, in most cases, it is assigned immediately. But for registration of the status of the disabled, it is necessary to provide a package of documentation and pass a specialized commission. To quickly resolve this issue, it is advisable to know in advance about all the requirements and their rights. Professional treatment of intervertebral hernia from your guarantee of recovery. The medical center employs specialists who have been trained by Vladimir A. Bersenev.

Description of medical and social expertise

Disabled status is assigned by the state. To this end, carried out medical and social expertise (ITU). During this procedure, the applicant undergoes a full examination: the size of material support, the level of disability, the current level of the disease, the need for social security and many other factors are established.

It is important to know that if a person has significant passive incomes, wealthy close people help him, then there is a high probability of refusing to be granted the status of a disabled person, since it is assumed that he can receive treatment for a fee and can afford a higher-quality recovery period than the state provides.

Often the patient himself is the reason for the refusal to recognize him as disabled or to abolish the benefits already assigned to him. For example, the answer that a patient copes with his work without problems, but does not indicate that this is a part-time job, may be a reason for abolishing benefits, since such a statement can be interpreted as improving one’s well-being. As a result, the patient, despite the serious illness that limits his ability to work, will have to work in the same way as a healthy person.

After assigning a disability, the patient is obliged to confirm it regularly, since it is possible that after some time his health will be partially or fully restored. And this fact will cause the abolition of benefits and the removal of the status of the disabled.

You should be prepared for a lack of understanding from ITU specialists. Its specialists do not have the goal of making life easier for people and delving into their problems. On the contrary, they will try to find recovery factors and reduce the level of disability or cancel it altogether. It is possible that visiting the commission for the first time will not be successful. For the competent protection of their rights, it is necessary to navigate the laws, to take legal advice.

When can I get a disability with spinal hernia?

Vertebral hernia is one of those diseases that significantly limit the ability to perform any work. A person with such a diagnosis is unlikely to be able to go to work. Moreover, in the difficult stage of the disease, it becomes impossible to perform simple household chores.Disability in spinal hernia is given precisely according to its degree of severity, so first you have to undergo a full medical examination, or rather, ITU - a medical and social examination.

What is the ITU passage for?

For legal recognition of a person as an invalid - both in case of vertebral hernia, and in any other diseases - not only correct diagnosis is required. In addition, the examination allows you to get answers to the following questions:

    • is the patient able-bodied,
    • does a person receive any income
    • which disability group is laid with varying degrees of severity of the disease,
    • Does spinal disease affect disability applicants?
    • whether the patient has relatives who are able to provide him with monetary assistance.

In addition, as a result of ITU, other issues are being identified that are determined individually. Only after this they give (or do not give) disability.

In what situations will not be assigned a disability group

The most common reason for refusing to assign a group for a hernia or other spinal disease is the presence of any passive income. It is believed that in this case a person can afford the services of paid clinics that provide both high quality treatment and effective rehabilitation procedures.

Very seldom they give disability to those patients who receive financial assistance from relatives. Sometimes the person responsible for the refusal is the person who is ill. He may, for example, report that he copes with his duties, but does not indicate that he works only a couple of hours a day or receives only half of the rate. Such a statement may well serve as a pretext even for the withdrawal of the group.

    Three groups of disability

Depending on the condition of the patient with hernia of the spine, the state can assign one of three groups of disability:

    • the third and easiest group. It is assigned in the initial stages of the disease and implies a reduction in physical activity for the patient, transferring it to so-called light work or part-time work,
    • second group. Such disability is assigned to patients who underwent surgery. Also, the rationale for its assignment can be severe pain, minimal effect of treatment, limitation of mobility, which is very common in hernia of the spine,
    • the heaviest is the first group, which is assigned in the most extreme cases. If we are talking about diseases of the cervical or any other part of the spine, then the reasons for disability of group I will be serious sphincter disorders, or paralysis.

How to apply for one of the disability groups

How to get one of the above groups? To begin, you will need to consult a doctor who will conduct all the necessary research. He must write a referral for medical and social expertise, given the presence of the following grounds:

    • severe course of the disease, the appearance of pathological disorders in the body’s activities, which do not allow to perform official duties, have a negative impact on the monthly income,
    • exacerbation of radiculopathy, recurring more often, despite the implementation of all necessary rehabilitation procedures,
    • prolonged disability and the lack of favorable projections,
    • disturbances in the vestibular apparatus,
    • constant pain that is not removed by drugs,
    • restriction of motor functions associated with horsetail compression or radiculoischemia,
    • the long duration of the disease in the acute stage (at least 4 months) and the lack of predictions for remission in the very near future,
    • asthenic syndrome, or cephalgia.

The next stage is the passage of the ITU itself, to which you will need to submit a whole package of documents, including:

    • referral for examination,
    • medical record. This document should contain detailed information about the disease of the spine, as well as all attempts to treat it,
    • passport,
    • an extract from the medical facility from which you were referred to ITU.

To get a disability, you will need to undergo an X-ray examination, pass all the necessary tests, make a lumbar puncture. It is on the basis of the results of these studies that a decision will be made.

Diseases in which a person is considered disabled

Here is a list, which is the answer to the question of which diseases of the spine disability give:

    • osteochondrosis,
    • fracture
    • neoplasms in various tissues of the spinal column,
    • curvature
    • arthritis,
    • hernia in the spine
    • spondylosis and others.

This disease is on this list. But in itself, the presence of a hernia is not a reason to talk about any disability.

Does the disability group give patients with disc protrusion? It depends on how much the disease has changed or complicated the normal life of a person, and what functions that were performed earlier became impossible after the disease or are performed with restriction.

But before we consider what is a prerequisite for obtaining disability in this case, we will determine what disability is and who defines this condition.

Expertise as a basis for further action

Whether it is possible to get a disability in the diagnosis of a hernia depends on many factors. But in the end, only state bodies can officially, legally recognize the patient as disabled.

You can feel that way, the doctor can give you a certificate where he expresses his point of view on the state of your health, but only the medical and social examination will determine whether you are entitled to state aid. Actually, it is for her sake that the patients pass the commission.

Before the examination, the attending physician will certainly refer the patient to the necessary examinations, after which the necessary materials will be issued:

    • X-ray of the spine in the place of the hernia,
    • computed or magnetic resonance imaging,
    • electromyography (if observed radiculoischemia),
    • rheovasography (in violation of the vessels),
    • rheoenceography (if there is posterior cervical sympathetic syndrome),
    • spinal tap,
    • myelography
    • blood test,
    • Analysis of urine.

In addition, you may need to consult a neurosurgeon and his written recommendations about surgical treatment.

But do not assume that you have to go through all these studies: the required list will be determined by the attending physician. It is also incorrect to assume that disability in herniated spinal cord without surgery is not given.

Although surgery in most cases is a direct prerequisite for determining a decrease in the functionality of the organism, but with conservative treatment, the functionality of a person can be significantly reduced compared with the state before the disease.

In addition to the results of surveys, you need to have documents with you:

    • referral to the commission (such is a bypass from the clinic at the place of registration),
    • Medical Card,
    • passport,
    • discharge from the hospital (before the commission, the patient must be sent there as scheduled examination),
    • if this is not the first commission - the previous certificate of disability.

The examination will consider not only medical records, but also examine the degree of need for assistance from the state (this includes pensions and various benefits).

In particular, whether social protection is put will depend on the income level of the patient and even his close relatives. For example, if you have the opportunity to receive a large income without making your own physical efforts for this, you may be denied a disability group.

Also, the “risk factor” may be that you (or your family) were treated in expensive private clinics, and not in free public hospitals - the commission may conclude from this that you do not need any compensation from the state.

Indications for referral to the commission

    • severe and prolonged pain
    • frequent exacerbations
    • constant long stay at the hospital,
    • impaired coordination and motor functions, and more.

Disability can be determined with hernia as the lumbar spine. so and others. The heaviest, the first group, is given in the case of paralysis or incontinence of feces and urine due to spinal hernia.
